End Of Summer Thoughts About Wrought Iron Patio Furniture

All summer I have enjoyed my wrought iron patio furniture. In past years before I decided to go with wrought iron, I had a few mishaps caused by wind. After a couple of blown away aluminum outdoor furniture, and a couple of broken glass tables, we realized we needed something that would not be picked up by the winds we get in this part of the world.

We opted for wrought iron patio furniture because it is heavy. We really chose well, not once did we have to pick up our patio furniture this year.

If like us, you decide to make that leap and change your outdoor furniture for the sturdier wrought iron, you will soon learn to appreciate the quality.

You will quickly realize that although you might have paid a little more than in the past for this type of furniture, it is much more durable.

Some will wonder about rust? With today's new paints you will more than likely never see rust on you wrought iron table or chairs. But if you remember the rust color of grandma's wrought iron outdoor patio furniture, you can still get it as colors are numerous and varied. The days of only black or rust wrought iron patio furniture are gone. You can now select any array of colors and many people choose white.

Now that summer is drawing to its end it is almost time to think what to do with all the garden furniture. Well if you have wrought iron, it is not a problem. You won't have any special maintenance to do, as the furniture can spend the winter out in the elements. A good thing since it is a bit heavy to move. So instead of spend the last sunny day of fall cleaning and storing your patio furniture, you can still take in the last cool days of fall and relax. Come spring all you will need to do is wash the wrought iron furniture set.

If you have not yet made the switch you might be wondering about styles. Wonder no more! Nobody wants to have the same backyard furniture as their neighbors, and with wrought iron, you won't have to. Styles for every taste are available and now at the end of summer might be a good time to buy discounted wrought iron patio furniture at your local dealers or on line. Many deals are available on modern as well as classic styles.

In closing I have to say that I was never as glad to have wrought iron patio furniture as the day, my sister in law brought her new boy friend to meet the family. When I saw his 6'4" frame carrying a good 350 lbs, I worried, and on the old furniture, I probably would have had a problem. The wrought iron furniture took it like a champ, then I knew I was really glad I had chosen wrought iron for my patio furniture.

I recently bought a smaller wrought iron patio furniture set and I agree with you, I absolutely love it. I'm different from my neighbors who all have resin wicker and it's a smaller set so it will be no problem to store away in my garage for the winter!

I love wrought iron furniture, it's so much more pleasing to the eye compared to wicker or the dreaded vinyl. Thanks for the article, it has loads of great tips.

Hi,

I have several wrought iron pieces that I inherited from my mother. I wondered re care for the winter. I get a lot of snow. Should I cover them with a furniture tarp?

Thank you!
